What kind of community and environment do we want to help create, and how can we get there?

Often it’s easier to focus on problems than on what we want to accomplish. Yet leading organizational theory suggests that by identifying what is already working well and then envisioning how good it should be, we can commit to creating positive change.

Much about climate change is outside of our control. And yet we have the ability to decide and take action now to strengthen our community. For example, health and climate change focus group participants envisioned good health in Blackfeet Country in a variety of ways, including having a supportive community, being physically active, increasing local food production, families staying together and working together, and good balance. As we work to build resilience to impacts from climate change, let’s focus on what we want to create together.
